Petra's Planet for Schools is a new kind of online learning environment for pre and primary school pupils. The play experience and games in the virtual school help to develop the skills that every child needs in today's rapidly and ever changing world.

The client faced difficulties with the existing architecture of the web site and needed to refresh it's current content and present it in a new way.
Solution
Globalluxsoft took over the improvement of a legacy platform. Our team re-architected and implemented backend to a tight deadline during the private beta-phase of the project. Thereafter, our cooperation had grown to include the implementation of a custom CMS to have full control over the platform's functionality, interface, and updates.

It allowed the platform to offer a range of content also for the use of interactive whiteboards used whilst teaching.

Gamification in learning for more engagement with a wide range of content including different quests, quizzes and puzzles by pupils; interactive whiteboards to provide teamwork for classmates in virtual school
A simplified email program for interpersonal communication and safe internal chat for acquisition social media chatting skills;

After analysing large amounts of research it became obvious that the idea of a virtual world where children could travel the world, be safe, and have fun while learning, was something that was missing in the gaming world. It enabled the potential of creating something unique for children and their parents.
A brand new educational platform was released for presentation at the BETT Learning Technology Exhibition in London, in 2014.
Initial feedback has been positive, as users commend the usability and aesthetic quality of the site.
